Books Alive! Cakes, Cakes and Cakes

Are you a fan of cakes? What is your favorite type of dessert? Are you familiar with Pop Art? It is an art movement inspired by popular culture—hence the name. Artists in the Pop Art movement drew inspiration from everyday objects and images—even food! In this activity, we will take a look at the Pop art works displayed in the Museum to think about such topics as eating and consumption. Then, we will make a very sweet sculpture, using a slice of cake as our model. A workshop for our senses. A world of flavors lost and remembered, pleasant aromas, and fascinating textures!
