The ARCHITECTURE AND ENVIRONMENT photo contest, organized by the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao to mark the Frank Lloyd Wright exhibition, is a global project open to both professionals and amateurs over the age of 15 from anywhere around the world. It will be held November 16 through January 30, 2010. Contest winners will receive fantastic prizes.
Wright developed a ground-breaking vision of space. When carrying out his architectural projects he sought to unite people, buildings, and nature in physical and spiritual harmony.
This contest sets out to reward you for your photography skills. We ask that you send in a digital or scanned photograph of any building or architectural element that stands out for its specific relation with its direct surroundings.
If you think about your neighborhood, your city or some of the vacation spots you've visited, you're sure to find some good examples. Your picture will be judged on both technical quality (sharpness, exposure, framing, etc.) and for the framing of the relationship between landscape and architecture.
This quote by Wright may help inspire you to take part in the contest:
"The building as architecture is born out of the heart of man, permanent consort to the ground, comrade to the trees, true reflection of man in the realm of his own spirit".Frank Lloyd Wright
