Born on October 6.
1934–36
Moves to England to attend the School of Arts and Crafts in Oxford.
1936
Returns to Spain.
1948
Receives a grant from the French government and moves to Paris. Meets Eduardo Chillida.
1949
Participates in the I Salon de Mai in Paris, exhibiting an abstract painting for the first time.
1950
Participates in the II Salon de Mai in Paris.
1951
Moves to Villaines-sous-Bois, north of Paris.
1952
Receives the Kandinsky Prize. Participates in Painters of Today in Paris at the Kunsthaus Zürich and in Younger European Painters at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.
1954
His work is included in Tendences actuelles de l'école de Paris at the Kunsthalle Bern.
1955
Has his first solo exhibition, at Galerie Maeght in Paris; he will exhibit regularly at Galerie Maeght in subsequent years. Participates in the Carnegie International at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh.
1958
Awarded the Carnegie Prize by the Carnegie Museum of Art.
1964
Exhibits for the first time in Spain, at Galería Juana Mordó in Madrid. Participates in the Biennale de Menton.
1969
Returns to Spain and settles in his family's home, La Peraleda, close to San Lorenzo del Escorial.
1970
Holds an exhibition at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
1981
Exhibits with Pol Bury at the Kunst Museum in Denmark.
1982
Receives the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes, awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Culture. Participates in the Bienal de Escultura de Cáceres.
1987
Palazuelo's work is included in Espacios urbanos at the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona.
1992
Palazuelo's work is included in Pasajes in the Spanish Pavilion at Expo '92 in Seville.
1993
The Museo de Bellas Artes in Bilbao presents an exhibition of Palazuelo's works on paper.
1994
Receives the Premio de Artes Plásticas, awarded by the Comunidad de Madrid. The exhibition La visión is presented at the Palacio de Daralhorra and Palacio de los Condes de Gabia in Granada, Spain. Palazuelo's work is included in Artistas españoles años 80–90 at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid and in Madrid: El arte de los setenta at the Sala de Exposiciones de la Comunidad de Madrid.
1995
The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid presents a major retrospective of Palazuelo's work.
1996
Receives the Premio Tomás Francisco Prieto, awarded by the Fundación Casa de la Moneda in Madrid. Exhibits at the Institut Valencià d'Art Modern in Valencia, Spain. The exhibition Indret opens at the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona.
1997
Palazuelo's work is included in Arte contemporáneo español at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City.
1998
Palazuelo's book Escritos, conversaciones is published.
1999
Awarded the Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Culture. Exhibits sculptures, drawings, and gouaches from the previous five years at the Museo Casa de la Moneda in Madrid.
2000
Participates in Force Fields: Phases of the Kinetic at the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona. The exhibition later travels to the Hayward Gallery in London.
2003
Exhibits recent work at Galeria Joan Prats in Barcelona.
His work is included in De Picasso a Barceló: Los artistas españoles at the Fondation Pierre Gianadda in Martigny, Switzerland.
2004
Awarded the Premio Velázquez de las Artes Plásticas by the Spanish Ministry of Culture.
2005
The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid presents Pablo Palazuelo 1995–2005, a continuation of the retrospective it dedicated to the artist ten years earlier.
2006
The Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona presents a major retrospective of Palazuelo's work, co-organized by the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao; the exhibition is shown at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao the following year. Participates in the exhibition Homage to Chillida at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. Palazuelo's work is featured in the exhibition 33 Artists: Spanish Prints at the Zhu Qizhan Art Museum in Shanghai.
2007
His work is featured in Entre Picasso y Dubuffet: La Colección Jean Planque at the Museo de Bellas Artes in Bilbao. Dies on October 3 in Madrid.
